The Tritone Trio performs primarily as an instrumental trio of vocals, guitar, and double bass. However, the musicians from the original trio are also regularly joined (in various configurations) by fellow musicians trained in the Cork School of Music on fiddle, sax and drums. This allows for a wide range of musical styles to be performed, from the high energy 1930s gypsy swing of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, to jazz  classics like ‘Fever’, and unique takes on more contemporary music, such as Declan O’Rourke’s ‘Galileo’.

We aim to recreate the atmosphere of a 1930s Parisian Café - volume levels are set accordingly: ideal for both those who want to listen intently and those who prefer to relax, chat and soak up the atmosphere. The music is mostly lively, high-spirited swing tunes, balanced by some slower more romantic pieces. It is ideal music for smaller functions such as birthday parties and small drinks receptions.

If you would like to come and hear us live, please feel free to join us in the Cornstore Bar and Restaurant, Cornmarket Street, Cork City, where we perform every Friday from 8pm and every Sunday from 2pm.
